Dave - again, beautiful colour, clarity and wonderful light also. I know from experience how difficult it is to capture small birds, as they are so 'flittery' or 'flighty' and being small you have to get so close to them. This is a beautiful capture of a very attractive bird. The clarity you achieve makes it like seeing with my own eyes...which I think is a great achievement...

Wonderful. How lucky you are to get such a good photo of one. One of my favourite British birds, we very oacsionally see them passing through our garden but never get a chance to get any where near them, before they're off!

Perhaps I should plant some thistles and tempt them to linger?

Another great capture. Not only the beauty of the bird, but the wispy look of the thistle down. Is the light in the bird's eye from the sun?
:iconthedoc4:
Thankyou =p i always wanted to capture them as thistles as its the surroundings most people relate the goldfinch too. yes the light is the suns reflection, i try to aviod flash as much as i can, i find it bleaches the natural colour of
a shot.
